Special Image Files Not Permitted

Learn why sometimes files will not upload to the Media Manager: Why can’t I add a file to the Media Manager?

In general, the following file types cannot be directly uploaded to the Media Manager because these are image types that are not displayed by Web browsers:

  • eps
  • tiff
  • tif
  • bmp

If these need to be available on your website, we recommend placing these files in a compressed or ZIP file before uploading them.

Media Manager Directory and File Limitations

For image galleries, there can be no more than 50 subdirectories, but for the Media Manager, the threshold is double that.There may be up to 150 subdirectories per directory in the Media Manager. Each directory can only hold 2000 individual files of any type.

Youtube and Vimeo: Remote File Thumbnails

Youtube.com or Vimeo.com video files do not need an assigned thumbnail. We dynamically pull those from Youtube or Vimeo when the user’s page loads.
