How can I automatically update the Metadata when making changes to Articles and Events?

Articles

When you create a new article, the information entered on the General tab will automatically populate the fields on the SEO tab as follows:

Article General Tab Field Article SEO Tab Field
Headline Slug
Headline Browser Title
Teaser Meta Description
Keywords Meta Keywords

When you make subsequent changes to the Headline, Teaser or Keyword fields, those changes are not automatically made to the SEO tab. If you would like Article changes to be automatically updated on the SEO tab, simply check the “Auto SEO update” box before you click Save.

Note: When you update a headline through the Auto SEO Update checkbox, it will change your URL slug (the part of the URL behind your domain name). A URL Redirect is automatically created in this instance so that any links to the previous slug will be redirected to the new one.

Events

When you create a new Event, the information entered on the General tab will automatically populate the fields on the SEO tab as follows:

Event General Tab Field Event SEO Tab Field
Title Browser Title
Short Description Meta Description
Keywords Meta Keywords

When you make subsequent changes to the Title, Short Description or Keyword fields, those changes are not automatically made to the SEO tab. If you would like changes made to these Event fields to be automatically updated on the SEO tab, simply check the “Auto SEO update’ box before you click Save.
