How do I update the podcast image / text overlay?

On the podcast landing page (/media/podcasts), the image, title, and description are driven by the podcast taxonomy. The podcast taxonomy is created when you add a new podcast to your website. The image set in the podcast taxonomy is what is used in the podcast RSS for Apple, Spotify, etc.

By default, the image and text displayed on the individual podcast landing page (/media/podcasts/:id) and on the podcast episode page (/media/podcasts/:id/play/:id) are also driven by the podcast taxonomy. You can create a new Editorial Content (EC) area to change the podcast image and/or text overlay on these two templates.

Creating a new Editorial Content area

Under Editorial on your dashboard, select Editorial Content

Fill out the fields based on how you want the podcast overlay to appear

  1. Internal Name: Required; the EC name needs to follow this naming convention, podcast.banner.id, where id needs to match the podcast ID.
    1. For example, if the ID of your podcast taxonomy is 1234, then your EC will be podcast.banner.1234
  2. Headline: Optional; this replaces the Title text. If left blank, no text will appear.
  3. Sub Headline: Optional; this text displays underneath the headline. If left blank, no text will appear.
  4. Body: Optional; this replaces the description and can contain HTML. If left blank, no text will appear.
  5. Image: Optional; this replaces the podcast image on the /media/podcasts/:id and /media/podcasts/:id/play/:id pages. If left blank, the image used in the podcast taxonomy will appear.
