Using The Merge User Tool

Overview

This feature is supported only for our Continuum and Multipub clients.
The Merge User tool in Continuum allows administrators to combine two existing user accounts into one. The source account's selected data is transferred into the target account, and the source account is then permanently deleted.

This is useful when a subscriber has duplicate accounts, or when consolidating user records for data integrity.

How to Merge User Accounts

Follow the steps below to complete a user merge. This process cannot be undone, so please review all details carefully before confirming.

1

Open User Manager

From the main navigation, go to User Manager in Continuum.

2

Click 'Merge User'

Locate and click the Merge User button in the upper-right corner of the User Manager screen. This opens the Merge User panel, which slides out from the side.

3

Select the Source User

In the panel, enter the email address of the Source User — the account whose data you want to merge and remove.

4

Select the Target User

Enter the email address of the Target User — the account that will be kept after the merge. All retained data will be associated with this account.

5

Confirm Both Records

Review the details shown for both users, including their Multipub IDs, to ensure you have selected the correct accounts.

6

Choose What to Transfer

Select which information from the Source User you want to move to the Target User. Only the items you select will be transferred.

7

Complete the Merge

Click the Merge & Delete Source Account button to finalise the process. A confirmation screen will appear showing the outcome of the merge and the information that was retained.
