• SEO & Accessibility: You can now add full text transcripts to remote media files, such as podcasts and hosted videos. This significantly improves Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Answer Engine Optimization (AEO) by making your audio and video content indexable by search engines.

• Easy Management: Editors can simply copy and paste transcripts directly into the new transcript area on the remote media object type.

To add a transcript:

1. Go to Media Manager and open the remote media file you want to update.
2. Locate the Transcript field.
3. Paste the full text of your transcript into the field.
4. Save the remote media file.

The transcript text is included in your page source, so search engines and answer engines can index it along with the rest of the page.

Accessing transcripts via the API

If you pull content through the GraphQL API, the transcript is available on the RemoteMedia node.

Still worth checking with the dev whether a cache clear is needed for the transcript to show up in the page source — if it is, that's a step 5.
